2 For 1 Special or Look At How The Stars Lined Up

Good Morning, Everyone!

The castle is offering a 2 For 1 Special, good ONLY for TODAY.

2 posts by TheEmpress for the price of one.

Sometimes, wondrous events line up just so...that you couldn't have planned them this way. On these days, I wish I had bought lottery tickets. Alas, we don't know of the cosmic alignment of planets and stars when they are in our favor, until we are in the thick of it.

Today finds me doubly blessed. When I prepare a post, it's with all of you in mind. You are the ones I write for. With this inspiration, it becomes easy for the words to come. With you in mind, I will never run out of words.

A post I've written for The Lady Bloggers Society is being featured there today. I talk about "Finding Your Blog's Focus." Come over, and please let me know what your thoughts are on what I say, and tell me what your blog voice is, and how you found it.

Also, a post I created for The Blogger's Concierge has been placed on the calendar there for today. (As I said, doubly blessed). I speak of "My Most Difficult Blogging Moment". Come see how my lovely lady bloggers came to my rescue that day, shields and swords and all.

As I said, perfect alignment due to the sweet inspiration of you all.

Thank you, to all of you, for giving me someone to write for.

[cue Madonna....wrap tights around head....and...SING IT!]

This one goes out to my ladies! The ones who inspire me and bring out the best in me!

You must be my lucky star
Cause you shine on me wherever you are

Starlight Starbright
First star I see tonight...

Truly hope to see you there and there, and hear what you have to say at The Lady Bloggers Society and The Blogger's Concierge.

46 notes to the Empress:

  1. I'm just sitting here with my mouth slaggin open. You have a twin. I know you do. You write while she cooks, homeschools, comments on all of our blogs, works at farmer's markets and likely runs a few triathalons too for good measure. I am bowing down before your impressiveness Oh Empress. And... to think I was I was going to write this comment on yesterday's post.
    Love ya,
    Dana

  30. I LOVED reading both your posts. This is not just a comment you leave for the formality of it, to kind of say, "Yes, I've visited you today. Make sure you come back and visit me." Oh no.

I feel like you were talking to me today through those posts. I connected, so well. I've felt good to meet with you today, friend!

  32. terrific advice on finding one's focus. be something most of the time, but one can still be anything every once in a while. i also think it's key to allow one's self to make missteps, as you note. i think it's really the only way to find our voices, to find what satisfies us and what appeals to others as well. it's usually the same thing, as our authentic voices are usually tapped into our unique creative energy.

  33. Wow! Great job. Between the two posts you have more than 200 comments! When you write, bloggers read!

Both were terrific reads and very helpful. Congrats on being invited to guest blog.

  42. I just read your post on the Blogger's Concierge about your first negative comment. It is so true how you can feel completely deflated one minute from something that happened in bloggyland, and turn around and find such a network of support and encouragement. Great post!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Alexandra, I just read these two posts now and thought I'd respond here.

They were great posts, great topics! I so agree with you on the importance of finding your "focus" and voice. I struggled with this so much, which was part of the reason it took me so long to launch my blog. I'd read other blogs and let each one influence me - I enjoy irreverent blogs, then feel that mine needs to be that way too. Then I'd read something more serious and sentimental and think, oh, maybe that is me. It's the blogging equivalent to being 15 and not knowing who you are and following the crowd. It's still a struggle for me, but I'm letting my fingers do the talking and seeing where they take me. As long as people are reading and responding positively, and I am feeling that I can be who I am, then I need to be comfortable being myself!

And I still remember that post you wrote after your first negative comment - that was the first time we had met! Alex wrote about the overall topic and I think linked to your blog maybe, and that is how I found you. All bad things result in something good - yes!
